I MANAGED to finish my shower before my phone rang again. Sam this time.

“Okay,” I said as I picked up. “What advice are you going to give me?”

“What do you mean?” she asked, playing dumb.

“Why’d you call?”

“A little birdy told me you left the club with a couple hotties last night,” she admitted, and I gave a little snort.

“How did you make friends with my bouncer already?”

“I’m likeable,” she said flippantly.

“You’re something else,” I argued. “Okay, so what’s your advice?”

“Super simple,” she said. “Don’t fuck this up.”

“You’re the one who got him to break up with me in the first place,” I pointed out, shrugging one-handed into my shirt.

“That’s before I knew he was so damn in love with your ass he’d follow you across the country. Now he has my blessing. I told you I liked him.”

“You have a strange way of showing it.” I checked my watch. I was going to be cutting it close already, without having to try to dress while pacifying Sam. “Listen, love, I have to get going. Send me all your good vibes?”

“Vibrating through the universe, gorgeous. Go get him and make him never want to leave the Big Apple.”

“Thanks, babe,” I said, grinning again. “I’ll let you know how it goes.”

I tossed my phone onto my bed after hanging up and surveyed my few unpacked belongings. I was going to do this. I was going to make it work.
